The Farmer's Market
The farmer’s market was an amazing experience to taste the neighborhood’s local flavor. The farmer that I visited took place in the Federal Center and plaza. I looked many stands selling from fruit and vegetables to flower bouquets and street food. Fortunately, In Chicago are 27 outdoor farmers market from the Southport low-line to Logan Square and Delay Plaza. The vendors wore uniforms in which they show their brands, other sellers wore traditional clothes. To give you an idea, Mama fruits, a local farmer, wore with jeans, short-sleeve shirt, and their wide-brimmed hats glitter. It was not easy to get on anything that I wanted due to the layout was not uncluttered and the cardboard advertisements were not helpful. The spirit of that grocery shopping set on the local farmers, artisans and local producers who supply the neighborhoods weekly. Indeed, those markets are a social meeting. When I arrived there, I forgot all my worries. I looked the summer through the sunshine reflected in tomatoes, apples and red grapes. I took advantage of an opportunity to look at a food stand while WenWei was waiting for his meal. They were selling crepes, one of the most traditional desserts from France. Their social media account is @crepespaname on Instagram. The something interesting about that stand was mix chocolate and cheese in crepes. In my case, I would prefer to set the cheese on an aside. Finally, I interviewed the queens of the pie. Their brand named “justice of the pies”. They started this business with the desire making the best pie in Chicago’s land. Also, Pie is a famous dessert in America. I was surprised with bacon's pie and I asked, “Why Do you exchange sweet to salt dessert?”. They replied, “Pies is almost the same as pizza, and we mixed two of the most famous meals in America and we made an amazing meal, then our business grew quickly”.
